Step 1 · Choose your time

How long have you got today?

Every question gets 1.14 minutes, the same pace as the real test. Pick your time and we draw a fresh random set from the question bank, different every run.

How we count: minutes divided by 1.14, rounded down. The full mock is 50 questions in 57 minutes, exactly like the real thing.
Random every time: questions come from all 14 sections of our bank, so no two missions are the same.

Theory test FAQs4 quick answers

Theory test questions, answered

How many questions are in the real theory test?

The car theory test has 50 multiple-choice questions and you need 43 or more to pass. It is followed by a separate hazard perception test.

How do the time options work?

Every question gets 1.14 minutes, the same pace as the real test. Choose 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or a 57-minute full mock with 50 questions. Questions are drawn at random from all 14 sections.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every question, explainer and topic introduction is free to practise. Tipping is optional and doesn't unlock anything.

Do I need an account?

No. When you practise we store nothing about you or your answers, so there is nothing to log into. Your result appears on screen when you finish.
